Brigader Bizz : 14 - 18 years old

This is the most senior section in GB for teenage girls aged 14-18. It’s great to catch up with friends each week and hear all the bizz since the previous week. At GB we can forget about coursework, mock exams and boy trouble or chat about our concerns with friends and leaders who are really interested in us.Girls' Brigade Brigaders Northern Ireland

As Brigaders, we get more of a say in which activities we’d like to try out during the year. Here’s the kind of things Brigaders enjoy….

  • Making friends
  • Helping out with the younger sections
  • Keeping fit and healthy
  • Understanding relationships
  • Discovering how God is relevant to us
  • Looking good
  • Camp
  • Caring for the environment
  • Discussing our views and feelings on all kinds of topics
  • First aid
  • Drama
  • Sports
  • Cool crafts
  • Orienteering
  • And lots more…!

GB have over 80 registered companies doing Duke Of Edinburgh’s Award which is open to Brigaders. This is a challenging experience for anyone between 14 and 25.

This is the highest Award in Girls’ Brigade and only Brigaders can take part. It takes 2 years to work for this award and you must be at least 16 to enter this award.

Wanna be a Brigader?

Brigaders meet once a week during the winter months. To join us, contact us or Find a Company near you.

Sub-Officer

Sub-Officers are young leaders who have been selected by the Captain and Chaplain to work as part of the leadership team in the Company. Brigaders (16+) with leadership qualities and an interest in working with children in Christian youth work should speak to the Company Captain about Sub-Officer training.
